Upload via button or drag & drop

There are two ways into the Media Explorer:

• The Upload button in the header bar – opens the file dialog (multi-selection possible).
• Drag & drop: simply drag files from your file manager into the content area (“Drop here to upload”).

Files are always uploaded into the currently open folder. A progress panel (Uploads) shows running transfers.

Allowed file types

For security reasons an extension whitelist applies: common image formats (JPG, PNG, GIF, …) and documents (PDF, ZIP, …) are allowed; executable file types such as .php or .jsp are rejected.

Alternative: import from 14 sources

Instead of uploading locally, images can be pulled directly from external sources – from Wikimedia Commons and Unsplash to the company cloud (Nextcloud/WebDAV), Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive. Licence data is stored along. See the chapter overview for details.
